FCPX source video smooth but not in timeline or output

I have some video that was shot on a iPhone 6s. When I view the video in finder preview or Quick Time Player it plays perfectly. I import it into FCPX and the video plays perfectly in in the clips viewer. I then add it to the timeline and when it plays back in the timeline it has slight hesitations, they are not bad like studdering but they are there. If I export the video, it will hesitate in the exported video as well. I have adjusted the video previewer to best performance and have searched around but find nothing that helps solve this problem.

As a test I import the video into Go Pro Studio and convert the video and then export it and the video plays perfectly in the exported video.

Do you have any ideas where to look? This is frustrating as using FCPX is really nice now I just need the video to play smoothly.

Thanks,

Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Same issue here, not iPhone thou. Very weird, even pulled the XML into Davinci with the same result on export.

Did you ever figure out what it was?

Did you read the previous post? The answer is YES, he figured it out.

The clip was recorded at a different frame rate from the project.

You should start a new thread, place your question in detail: give specifics about the clip - codec, frame rate - and the project. It may be as simple as creating a new project, selecting the appropriate frame size and frame rate, and pasting the contents of the old project into it.
